Mission control -  Listen, Assess, Self-Control

what is it?

Simplistically speaking, “Mission Control” is an ongoing workshop which focuses on you taking control, becoming empowered, listening, assessing the situation, and making an informed, focused, controlled decision.  “Mission Control” is…

1.…a program designed to enhance focusing, understanding our body and minds, assessing a problem and making an informed decision.

2.…a fun and creative way for children and adults to learn by achieving the skills needed to focus, stay in control, solve problems in a realistic and acceptable manner, and to understand who we are.

3.…a way for participants to be a part of a group, to learn the skills that are needed that go along with that type of social climate, and to build esteem as we learning the effects our actions have on others.

In summary, Mission Control is a group workshop that over time teaches participants the skills they need to become socially adept, act in a socially acceptable manner, and succeed in the future through self control.

Mission Control goal and mission

To teach the skills and techniques needed to empower our students to learn about themselves, focus their attention, become socially adept, and overcome the obstacles of each individual and the community while building esteem and growing as individuals.

What do you do during a session?

The answer to this is not that simple.  Each day and group is different based on group interaction and individual need.

We do exercises that are fun, creative, and use multi-media when possible to hold the attention of all participants. These exercises help each participant understand themselves, to understand the consequences of their actions, and to gain control of themselves so they can make informed, socially acceptable choices. The techniques taught can be used throughout their lives and not “classroom only” exercises.
